"Thank you for your amazing production here in Adeje - the audience loved it, loved being able to go to the theatre in English, and I really hope we see you and your troupe again next year."

Clio O’Flynn, Ayuntamiento de Adeje, Tenerife.

The Speckled Band is a classic Sherlock Holmes tale, probably one of the first locked room mysteries. Be enthralled by this exciting and thrilling mystery, featuring a feisty heroine, struggling to overcome her domineering stepfather and solve her sister’s mysterious death.

With everything we've come to expect from a Sherlock Holmes murder mystery set in 19th century England, this is also a story that confronts many issues relevant to a 21st century audience. The play is suitable for young people aged 10+ years, as well as their friends and families, who will be fascinated by Holmes' processes of detection. It will appeal to schools, years 5-8, fitting well with English (KS2/3) and History curricula (KS2 - The Victorians). Adults will also enjoy this production, enticed into a world of suspense with edgy live music, Gothic motifs and melodrama.

Musician Tim Dalling (New Rope String Band, Kneehigh Theatre) performs his own original score written for the production. The cast also includes Robert Nicholson (Kitchen Zoo), Rebecca Jameson (Miscreations) and Polish/American singer/performer Mariae Smiarovska. The show is directed by John Cobb with set and costume design by Alison Ashton, and video projections from Von Fox Promotions.
