TSF receives third round Culture Recovery funding
TSF is one of five cultural organisations across Northumberland to receive a continuity support grant in the latest round of the Government’s Culture Recovery Fund, as announced by the Culture Secretary on 19 November 2021. This latest award of £18,038 will enable the company to continue to promote creativity, theatre, music, and culture in schools, theatres, and libraries across the country.
More than £100 million has been awarded to hundreds of cultural organisations from all corners of the sector as they deal with ongoing reopening challenges, ensuring they can thrive in better times ahead.
John Cobb, Joint Artistic Director, Théâtre Sans Frontières, said: “We are very pleased to receive this money from the Government’s Culture Recovery Fund, which will support our work in rural schools in Tynedale, our Adult Theatre Group in conjunction with Queen’s Hall Arts Centre, Hexham and future projects with schools, libraries and venues in Northumberland and beyond. This money supports the TSF base in Hexham, its continuing online presence reaching audiences across the UK, and its creative work with different elements of the community and in school settings.”
Pascale Konyn, Chair of TSF Board of Trustees, said: "In these particularly difficult times, TSF has found ways to work with people both young and old, bringing a sense of connection and hope. This funding will be a vital part of enabling TSF to continue to bring innovative joyful theatre to people locally and nationally."
