TSF seeks partner in Goods Shed project
Press Release issued 22 September 2014
Position Statement from TSF on the Goods Shed Project
TSF has passed another milestone on its journey to develop the Goods Shed at Hexham station as a creative and organisational base for the company. TSF’s appointed architects, _space, have now completed the RIBA Stage D design process which includes the structural, mechanical and electrical engineering designs and estimates of costs based on detailed design drawings.
The TSF Board believes that the £1.5 million project provides a wonderful opportunity for developing its own future alongside the provision of a unique resource for arts, heritage, cultural and commercial use by the Hexham community.
However, the TSF Board has considered the financial risks associated with such a project and concluded that the company will need significant assistance to fully realise the project.
TSF is therefore seeking partner(s) who may be interested in sharing the development responsibility, bringing finance, expertise and capacity to the project, in order to unlock the exciting potential of the superb designs from _space Architects. The Stage D RIBA plans can be downloaded from TSF’s website.
To date, TSF has been working with Hexham Community Partnership to explore a partnership role to operate the building and TSF is hopeful that important links with the Hexham community will be maintained alongside any new partner.
We invite potential partners, in the first instance, to call the TSF office on 01434 603114.
